A student of Pune Municipal School generally belongs to financially and socially middle or lower class family. As per the 'Free and Compulsory Education of Children Act, 2009' (RTE Act 2009), we ensure that not a single child in PMC’s jurisdiction is deprived of education. We plan and implement various schemes and programs at administrative level to enroll children in school.
Employees in the Department of Education are doing their duties efficiently in order to provide every child with the necessary skills. All students admitted to the Pune Municipal School are provided free education, uniform and mid day meal. To make students confident to face this competitive era and to enhance their skill set various arts, sports and technological education have been set up.
For the overall development of students, this department has implemented various innovative initiatives. Municipal corporation's Vidyaniketan, Sports School, Model School, Music School etc. are the examples of same. To empower the teaching-learning process ‘Teachers Sahayogi Dal' has been also established.
Under the 'Comprehensive Education Campaign' project, arrangements have been made to provide special education to children with special needs in the city. Shikshan Parishad conducted on monthly basis helps in exchange of new activities and ideas in the education sector.
Internet facility is provided for students in each of the municipal schools. Also the video conference system has been installed.
In the academic year 2019-20, e-learning will be started in 265 municipal schools. To sum up this department is working for the overall development of the students.
