A full-fledged Day-Care Centre is being run by the Pune Municipal Corporation for the children of its employees as well as other citizens. The Day-Care centre is located at Lal Bahadur Shastri School, behind Congress Bhavan, Shivajinagar, Pune.
At a time, 30 children can be accommodated at this centre. The fee of Rs.100 is charged for the children of PMC employees while a fee of Rs. 150/- is charged for normal citizens.
Kids between the age group of 3 to 5 years are fostered at the day-care centre from 7 AM to 7 PM. Two nurses from the PMC's Health Department work for the centre to look after the children's health. Moreover, few volunteers have been appointed on remuneration-basis to look after the daily chores of the children such as maintaining cleanliness, food arrangements, playing toys and games, nurturing the children etc. The entire expenses that are incurred on this day-care centre are borne by the Pune Municipal Corporation.
