A unique fund named as Labour Welfare Fund is created with the sanction of Govt. of Maharashtra from October 2005 for the employees of Pune Municipal Corporation. It is funded through an annual contribution of Rs. 500/- from class-I, Rs. 400/- from class-II, Rs. 300/- from class-III & Rs. 200/- from the class - IV employees and equal share from the Municipal Fund. An executive committee consisting of following members has been set up to implement various welfare schemes through the usage of this fund :

Activities carried out under these schemes are :
Varas Anudan:
A sum of Rs. 22,500/- is given to the heirs of a deceased employee whose death occurs while in service.
Documents required:
- An application in prescribed form (within 1 year from the death of the employee)
- Death Certificate of the employee
- Payment slip of the employee for the month of April
- Photo copy of ration card
- Affidavit from the heirs
Education Loan Scholarship:
Eligible employees can receive loan amount of upto Rs. 25,000/- without interest for their children as educational loan scholarship for higher education.
Terms & Conditions :
- Employee should be member of Labour Welfare Fund
- Employee should not have more than two children
- The loan amount is provided only for higher education
- The loan amount is the amount of actual fee paid or Rs. 25,000/- whichever is less
- Loan amount recovered from employees salary in 25 equal installments without any interest

- Last passing year marksheet.
- Passbook photocopy / xerox or cancelled cheque.
Sports and Cultural Activities:
We organize an annual sports event during the month of December or January. Various sports competitions like cricket, table tennis, badminton, long jump, chess, running, swimming, long jump, etc. are arranged for employees of PMC. More than 1500 employees participate in these events.

Felicitation programme for 10th& 12th passed:
The department organizes an annual felicitation programme for all children of PMC employees who score 65% and above in their 10th&12thexams. College sacks, calculators and other valuable stationary is given as a token of love.

Gunwant Kamgar Puraskar:
Every year 20 employees (1 employee from class I & II each, 3employees from class III and 13 employees belonging to class IV)are facilitated by awarding the ‘GunwantKamgarPuraskar’ which consists of a cheque worth Rs. 25,000/-, shawl and a certificate of merit.Maharastra state govt has prescribed certain norms for this award, and the employees are assessed accordingly.

Kamgar Dindi:
Kamgar Dindi event is organised for the PMC employees every year in the month of June or July. Dindi starts from Alandi by walking with Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi up to PMC main building. Breakfast, lunch and medical facilities are provided for the participants. During the procession awareness of various schemes of PMC are displayed through boards.
